This incredible safari takes you to the Volcanoes National Park for an amazing encounter with mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. Additionally, you will also enjoy Kigali city tour including Kigali Genocide memorial site and Presidential palace museum to learn more about Rwanda’s history. Visiting the Gorilla Guardian Village for an amazing Rwanda Cultural experience and the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo for another breath-taking moment are two more destinations to spice up your safari.
Kigali International Airport
Amity Safaris’ driver-tour guide will pick you up either at Kigali International Airport or at the hotel of your stay, brief you about the entire safari and then proceed for Kigali City Tour before heading to Volcanoes National Park. While on this tour you will visit Kigali Genocide memorial site where over 25,000 bodies of 1994 Rwanda genocide victims were buried, Presidential palace museum, the main city market and Artisan shops.
After the city tour, you will have lunch break and then head out of the city to Volcanoes national park in northern part of Rwanda where mountain gorilla trekking will take place.

The day will commence with early morning breakfast served at the lodge and then at 07:00 am proceed for briefing by park officials at the Park Headquarters about rules and regulations of Gorilla trekking. After briefing you will start your trek led by game rangers through the thick rain forest vegetation for about 1 to 6 hours depending on movements of Gorillas inside the forest. When these gentle giants are encountered, you will spend one hour in a close vicinity taking photos and observing their human like daily interactions and then head out of forest to the lodge for lunch.
In the late afternoon, you will head to the Gorilla Guardians Village one of the country’s leading cultural center for Rwanda Cultural experience and if interested you will take part in cultural performance. After such incredible experience, you will drive back to the lodge for a well-earned dinner and overnight stay.

Golden Monkeys are very rare monkey species and are only found in Rwanda, Uganda and Democratic republic of Congo (DRC) in the whole world making it a very prestigious opportunity trekking them. Upon your early morning breakfast, you will head out to Volcanoes National Park offices for briefing about Golden Monkey trekking rules and regulations prior to trekking.
After about 2 hours of hiking, you will encounter these very playful and cute Golden Monkeys, spend some time with them observing and enjoying their way of interacting. Head out of forest to meet your driver who will drive you back for Lunch.
After lunch, your driver will take you to the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo for another breath taking moment. The main activities at these twin lakes include canoeing, island hopping, nature walks and birding for those who are good funs. At the end of your enjoyment, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

This is the last day of your 4-Days Rwanda Gorillas and Golden Monkey Trekking Safari. The day will commence with sun rise morning breakfast as you prepare to check out and start your road trip back to Kigali for your return flight.
On your way to Kigali, you will drive on a moderate speed to enable you enjoy Rwanda’s appealing land scape of scenic views of unwinding hills understanding why Rwanda was named “the land of thousand hills”.
When you reach Rwanda’s Kigali Capital City, you will have Lunch and there after head to the airport for your return flight or at the hotel of your stay if you still have some time in Rwanda.

It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water.
