Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and Transfer to the Hotel

Our driver tour guide will pick you upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, briefs you about the entire safari and then transfer you to your booked hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with Rhino tracking in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Our driver tour-guide will pick you up at 8:00am from the hotel upon your morning breakfast and then begin your journey to Murchison falls national park. The drive will go through Luwero-Gulu high way making a stopover at famous Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for the white Rhinos tracking and learn about their daily interactions.

After Rhinos tracking, the drive will proceed to Murchison falls national park with enroute Lunch in Masindi town and there after proceed with journey arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3Murchison falls National Park Game Drive, Boat cruise and top of the falls’ hike.

The trip will commence with early morning breakfast and then set off for game drive in the park to encounter a wide range of wild animals and birds including Elephants, Lions, Buffaloes, Leopards, Giraffes, Warthogs and Antelopes. Expected birds are Shoe bill stork, Grew crowned cranes-The Uganda’s National bird and the Goliath heron-The world’s largest heron.

Get back to the Lodge for Lunch break and there after go for a boat trip at the Liver Nile hoping to see crocodiles, hippos and a variety of unique water birds. Conclude your day with a hike to the top of the falls for spectacular views of the Murchison Falls and memorial photographs. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 4Transfer from Murchison falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park

Upon morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and board our safari car for a transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, a home to over 1450 endangered Chimpanzees and Africa’s top destination for chimpanzee trekking. The drive lasts for 6-7 hours and will go through incredibly scenic views of lush green countryside and hills dotted with tea plantations arriving at the park in the evening hours. Check in into your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay awaiting chimpanzee trekking on the following day.

Day 5Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park

Upon your early morning luscious breakfast at the lodge you will head out with your picnic-packed lunch and water to the park office for a briefing in regard to trekking Chimpanzees. After briefing, you will be led by park rangers into the forest to track Chimpanzees for about 2-5 hours after which you will return to the lodge for lunch. If you are lucky you will encounter other primates like Colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and red-tailed monkeys while tracking

After lunch you can choose to go for our optional guided nature walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed swamp known for its rich biodiversity. The trail meanders through lush vegetation, offering excellent bird watching opportunities, including the rare Great Blue Turaco. Return to your lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 6Transfer from Kibale Forest National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After breakfast, depart Kibale Forest National Park and begin your scenic journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most popular and diverse wildlife destinations. The drive offers beautiful views of the Fort Portal Crater Lakes region, dotted with sparkling volcanic lakes and rolling tea plantations. You’ll take time to stop and enjoy photo opportunities of the stunning landscapes with the backdrop of the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the “Mountains of the Moon.”

Continue your drive through local communities and fertile farmlands before descending into the rift valley plains that mark the northern boundary of Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival, check in at your booked lodge for lunch and relaxation a waiting next day’s game drive and boat cruise.

Day 7Queen Elizabeth National Park Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Trip

The day will commence with an early morning luscious breakfast at the lodge and thereafter head out for the game drive at Kasenyi plains where you will encounter several wildlife including; African Elephant, Buffaloes, Lions, Uganda Cobs, Leopards, Warthogs, Hyenas, and antelopes among others.

Return to the lodge for lunch break and thereafter go for the boat cruise at Kazinga channel for an additional wildlife and bird watching adventure cruising through the intersection of Lake Edward and Lake George. While on a boat cruise expect magnificent encounters such as hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species upon which you will return to the lodge to dine and have a well-earned rest.

Day 8Tree-Climbing Lions in Ishasha sector and Transfer to Bwindi National Park

After morning breakfast, you will head out to the south of the Park arriving in Ishasha sector in the late morning hours where you will most likely see rare tree-climbing lions a thrilling moment of your safari. While sighting of these rare tree climbing lions is not 100% guaranteed, a stopover here is worth it

After watching these rare tree-climbing lions the drive will proceed to Kihihi town for en route lunch and then to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park-Ruhija sector where our Mountain Gorilla trekking will start the next day.

The drive is thrilled with sighting of spectacular mountainous landscape of Bwindi Impenetrable forest making your journey a true adventure. While you will arrive in the afternoon you may choose to go for optional community walk and learn more about the area.

Day 9Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park and Transfer to Kisoro

After an early morning breakfast, you will proceed for a briefing with your picnic packed lunch at Bwindi National Park headquarters. You will then start tracking through a thick rain-forest vegetation led by the park rangers for about 2 to 6 hours depending on the movements of Gorillas.

After spotting these gentle giants you will be allowed a maximum of 1 hour, an exciting moment to observe and learn about their routine human-like interactions and taking photos. Head out of the park and drive to the south in the district of Kisoro where we shall have our community activities on the following day

Day 10Golden Monkey trekking or Mount Sabyinyo hike in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

On this day, you will choose from either golden monkey trekking or the Mount Sabyinyo volcanic hike depending on your interests. For those opting for golden monkey trekking, the experience begins with a guided walk through the bamboo forest in search of these rare and playful primates found only in the Virunga Mountains. Watching them leap through the trees and feed on bamboo shoots offers a delightful and lively encounter.

Alternatively, hiking Mount Sabyinyo, an extinct volcano that sits at the meeting point of Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo awaits. The hike is challenging but rewarding, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Virunga ranges and lush countryside from the summit.

After your chosen activity, descend from the park to meet your driver who will lead you back to the lodge for late Lunch. After Lunch relax at the Lodge as you prepare for the transfer to the Lake Bunyonyi the next day.

Day 11Lake Bunyonyi Experience

Wake up on a late breakfast and begin your scenic drive through the terraced hills of southwestern Uganda toward Lake Bunyonyi, a deepest and one of the most beautiful and serene lakes in Africa. The journey takes you through rolling highlands, small villages, and lush farmlands, offering breathtaking views of the Virunga mountain ranges.

Upon arrival in the afternoon, you will be welcomed by the tranquil beauty of Lake Bunyonyi, a name that means “Place of Many Little Birds.” Spend the day relaxing and exploring the lake’s unique charm. You can take a canoe ride to visit some of its 29 picturesque islands, each with a story to tell such as the historic Punishment Island. Enjoy bird watching and swimming in the bilharzia-free waters and in the evening return to your Lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 12Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National park

After a refreshing breakfast overlooking the tranquil waters of Lake Bunyonyi, begin your journey northwards to Lake Mburo National Park on a drive of about 4–5 hours. You will make a stopover in Mbarara city for an enroute lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre, a renowned heritage site and restaurant that celebrates the rich culture of southwestern Uganda.

After lunch, continue your drive to Lake Mburo National Park, arriving in the evening.  Check in at your lodge for relaxation and later dinner and overnight stay as you wait for the next day’s Game drive and boat cruise

Day 13Lake Mburo National park Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Begin the day with an early morning game drive through the rolling savannah of Lake Mburo National Park, where you can spot zebras, impalas, giraffes, elands, buffaloes, and various bird species active in the cool morning hours. Return to the lodge for late breakfast relaxation and lunch.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Mburo, offering close views of hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife along the shores. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 14Transfer from Lake Mburo National Park to Entebbe and Departure

After morning breakfast, you will depart from Lake Mburo National Park for your journey back to Entebbe, marking the final leg of your 14 Days Uganda-The Perl of Africa Safari. The drive takes approximately 6–7 hours, passing through the scenic countryside, small towns, and lush farmlands.

Along the way, you will make a stop at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe for a memorable photo opportunity and browse local craft shops for souvenirs. Continue to Entebbe where you will have your lunch and there after continue with Airport drop off for your return flight.
