This 4 Days Adventure is designed to give you Uganda-Rwanda cross border experience and an opportunity to trek Uganda’s endangered mountain gorillas, rare species of tree-climbing lions and Chimpanzee at Kalinzu forest reserve.

Amity Safaris’ driver-tour guide will pick you up either at Kigali international airport or at the hotel of your stay, brief you about the entire safari and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through Chanika or Katuna border post. Upon arrival in the afternoon, you may choose to go for an optional Batwa community visit where you will be entertained and given tales of their unique culture.

Lodge: Rushaga Gorilla Lodge or Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge which both Lodges are just approximately 5minutes drive to the Rushaga gate-Bwindi
After an early morning breakfast, shall proceed for a briefing at Bwindi National Park headquarters by game rangers about the entire Gorilla trekking process including Dos and Don’ts while with these human-like creatures “The mountain gorillas”.
After briefing you will start your trek through the thick rainforest vegetation lasting for about 2 to 6 hours depending on how far or close the Gorillas will be spotted, an exciting moment to observe and learn about their routine human-like interactions. Upon trekking, you will return to the lodge to take a rest then later dinner and overnight stay awaiting for the next day’s adventure.

Soon after morning breakfast, you shall board your safari vehicle and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through amazing overlapping mountainous landscape of Kigezi region connecting to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, a spot mostly notable for rare tree-climbing Lions. Upon reaching Ishasha sector, we shall make a stopover to observe these rare tree-climbing Lions lying on branches of fog trees if we get a chance to spot them.
If time allows and reach early in the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel to explore diverse aquatic life including, hippopotamus, elephants drinking from the river, crocodiles and a variety of bird species. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for resting, dinner and an overnight stay awaiting the next day’s adventure.

Lodge: Buffalo Safari Lodge, Elephant Hab-Lodge, and Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge depending on availability.
The safari will begin with a morning breakfast upon which you will drive to Kalinzu forest reserve for Chimpanzee trekking. While Kalinzu forest reserve is well known for harboring chimpanzees, it also serves as a home to colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and olive baboons which you may encounter alongside chimpanzees.
After chimpanzee trekking and wildlife experience in Kalinzu forest reserve, we shall set off for Kampala or Kigali for a return flight as we conclude Your 4 days lasting safari. While it takes approximately 7 hours drive from Kalinzu Forest Reserve to Kampala/Entebbe or Kigali, Rwanda we recommend not to book a return flight that departs before 10:00 Pm Kampala or Kigali time.
